Fight This Fight

Yes to all of this. For fucks sake, we have to fight this fight.

Transgender wars are a test of whether our humanity can trump focus-group politics | Will Bunch
Whether hate-filled TV ads helped elect Trump is no reason to stop fighting for the humanity of 1 million transgender Americans.

One of the biggest mistakes Democrats made in the last cycle was shutting the fuck up on this issue.

All of that hate was just unanswered.

So many Americans are simply uneducated on this issue. And I get why!

I used to be uneducated on this, too. Twenty years ago, when I lived in red America and surrounded by the Murdoch and Rush Limbaugh news zeitgeist, those vile ads would have most likely worked on me.

You know when I started to grow the fuck up and see all of our neighbors as neighbors? It was when I moved to NYC and started to belly up to the bar next to every type of human from every corner of this miraculous pale blue spaceship.

Guess what I learned?

If I bought a round, my new friends would buy the next. And most of the time, the first round was the one that was offered by my new friends.

Meeting our neighbors has always been that magical tool that has broken the mirage of supremacy of every kind. So, all those vicious hate-mongering ads should have been countered with ads that showed our neighbors' kindness and humanity. It's as simple as that.

The job of the next four years is to make this issue the "actually, left-handed Americans aren't possessed demons" issue of our time.

Like those of you who were born with a better working left hand than right hand, Our trans teammates have always existed.

I can't wait until our idiotic society learns the science and reality behind yet another issue that should not be an issue.

And we can get there by exposing the motives behind the assholes who are in the business of being a hate-mongering politician.

As I was saying, a lot of these people don't really have an ideology besides whatever helps them climb upwards. If you're wondering which of these versions of Nancy Mace is a fraud ... they both are.

We win this fight by showing strength in this issue. You know, like this.

Imagine if all democrats talked like and had the strength of @aoc.bsky.social

Bluesky CEO Jay Graber says X rival is ‘billionaire proof’
Bluesky CEO Jay Graber told CNBC that the social media app’s open design could thwart potential acquisition efforts.

What if every entrepreneur started their business with this same philosophy? This is about designing this ethos into the core of the company. Back in the 90's grunge movement, this was known as "never selling out."

I absolutely love that philosophy. So, cheers to Jay Graber and the Bluesky team for turning it into their business model.

Maybe we can move this philosophy to government next? Okay, that job might take a little time. You know, since the most rapacious billionaire assholes on earth will be our President and Shadow-President in January.

Something that could have been prevented if only we ...

Oh no, poor Brazilians! Do they not know that the only way to defeat an authoritarian assault is “at the ballot box” and that if you want to save the constitutional order, you have to let the authoritarian destroy it? I hope it’s not too late for them to learn from the great U.S. of A.

How is this good news? Just because our DOJ failed at its job doesn't mean we can't celebrate a country that puts its coup plotters in fucking jail. Cheers to you, my friends in Brazil!

And this is a much-needed reminder to all of us. The wins are out there, and these were huge fucking wins.
